🗣️ Students’ Academic Debate

The Students’ Academic Debate is an annual intellectual program organized by the Faculty of Computing Students’ Association (FOCSA) to provide a vibrant and inclusive platform for students to engage in meaningful discussions on academic, social, and technological topics. It is designed to promote critical thinking, articulate communication, and collaborative learning, allowing students to exchange knowledge and ideas beyond the classroom environment.

The main objectives of the debate are to encourage analytical and logical thinking, develop confidence and professionalism in public speaking, foster teamwork and open-mindedness, and provide opportunities for students to research, reason, and defend their ideas effectively. Through participation, students gain essential skills such as communication, critical thinking, research, and leadership—helping them express ideas clearly, analyze arguments, and build confidence in professional settings.

The event features inter-departmental competitions, faculty-wide participation, and professional judging panels that offer constructive feedback, with awards recognizing excellence in speaking, teamwork, and research. Ultimately, the Students’ Academic Debate inspires a generation of innovative thinkers and effective communicators who are ready to contribute meaningfully to academia and society.

The Faculty of Computing Students Association (FOCSA) at Simad University is a dynamic and inclusive organization dedicated to empowering students within the Faculty of Computing.
